This is the time when many awards are given for achievements during the past year. So here - even more prestigious than the Oscars or the Nobel Prizes - are the MADA Awards for 2020. As these are aikido awards, there are no winners or losers, all nominees gain an award. Also, being MADA, there are no fancy statuettes, medals and certainly no sums of money large or small.
MADA Award for Poetry
This goes to John. Who knew he had such creative talent!
MADA Award for Literature
This goes to John, Greg, Adam, Helen, Sal and Neil for a variety of thoughtful and creative pieces on the theme of aikido.
MADA Award for Puzzle and Quiz Solving
This goes to Greg, Sofia, Sal and Neil for coming up with the right answers to a variety of brain teasers. Special mention goes to Neil (who must have fried brains by now), for solving every quiz and puzzle.
MADA Award for Creative use of Emojis
This goes to Rick, Sal and Sofia whose use of emojis were often able to raise a smile.
MADA Award for Quotation Assistance
This goes to Helen, Greg and John for their helpful contributions to Quote of the Week.
MADA Award for Connectivity
This goes to John, Neil, Greg, Adam, Mark, Sofia, Sal, Rick and Helen all of whom have touched base in some way since our last practise in March. Let's hope that it won't be as long again before we can all meet up an practise aikido rather than just talking, writing and thinking about it longingly!
