Greg's Thoughts About Aikido

Here is Greg's piece about aikido.

AIKIDO IS

AIKIDO is something what you can not describe in words (but I will try),

AIKIDO is not only over 2000 ways to apply learned techniques,

AIKIDO is not only self-defence,

AIKIDO is not only mind and body training,

AIKIDO is not only way to get rid of bad habits,

AIKIDO is not only moving meditation,

AIKIDO is not only learning from others,

AIKIDO is not only teaching others,

AIKIDO is not only directing the body against consciousness,

AIKIDO is not only science of yourself and other people,

AIKIDO is not only communing with the weapons of Japanese warriors,

AIKIDO is not only maintaining body balance to the limit against gravity,

AIKIDO is not only taking control of the uke without putting yourself in danger,

AIKIDO is not only spending time with great people,

AIKIDO is not only full body massage and stretching/,

AIKIDO is not only following the uke's movement in milliseconds,

AIKIDO is not only maintaining the centre and spherical movement,

AIKIDO is not only practising the elements of acupressure and shiatsu massage,

AIKIDO is not only the way of peace,

AIKIDO is not only the only martial art in which you don't want to win,

AIKIDO is not only a combination of Japanese martial arts,

AIKIDO is not only confrontation with far eastern culture,

AIKIDO is not only knowledge about body pressure points,

AIKIDO is not only pursuit of promotion to next grading,

AIKIDO is not only great fun,

AIKIDO is not only chance to confront more than one opponent at a time,

AIKIDO is not only to be in the present 100%

AIKIDO is not only stress management,

AIKIDO is not only using opponent's strength against him,

AIKIDO is not only passion,

AIKIDO is not only dealing with your weakness,G

AIKIDO is not only the way to find and improve your inner energy,

AIKIDO is not only manipulation of physics forces,

AIKIDO is not only ability to perform many independent movements at the same time,

AIKIDO is not only creating reflexes,

AIKIDO is never-ending path to perfection in everything we deal with,
it is a way to understanding Yin and Yang and equilibrium with the universe.
